Established in 2016, Wildflower was created to remember and protect the reason for purchasing flowers.  A flower is only a flower among hundreds of others until it is given by a loved one, or purchased to celebrate the greatest joys in life. At Wildflower, we understand this!!! We are honoured to share in those moments with you and help along the way. Every bloom that leaves the studio is inspected to be sure that it is the very best that it can be. Our bespoke designs are created with each of our individual recipients or customers in mind.... so that you will be proud of what you sent, or chose, or celebrated with! Our reason.... is our Customers and their journey.

About Us

Hi there! I'm Shirley. A Mom, lover of all things vintage and antique... flowers and foraging, shoes, thrifting, shopping, gardening and COFFEE! 

I started out as a Dental Assistant.  Yep, you heard it right!  But my heart was always in design and I soon realized that I was only energized when I was creating, designing, dreaming, working with my hands and helping people. The day soon came when I took a leap and started my own Wedding decorating business, Climbing 15 foot ladders, draping ceilings with yards and yards of fabric and lights and creating the most beautiful floral pieces. I fell in love with everything design! Pouring over my sketch pad for hours, sleepless nights until the design was perfect, it was part of my soul! Years of helping Bride's with their "dream day" and creating whatever came to my imagination was an incredible experience and Flowers were always a part of that!  Amidst all of those years I never stopped creating... candles and jewelry, cold processed soap, bath products and re-designed interiors.  Then one day it happened...my formal training in floral design began after I looked into the centre of a tiny flower and saw the intricacy of it .... I was blown away. It took me back to my childhood....where the name "Wildflower" came from, but  I'll save that story for another time!  Let's just say I was hooked! How did all of the colours and details fit into one tiny little spot and equal something so amazing and evoke so much peace and wonder... all at the same time!? Working in the sweetest little flower studio became my new reality. Helping other's get through their life events when flowers were needed was my joy! Tucked away in an industrial section I was able to create day and night, designs upon designs. My Customers would say many times as they popped by to say "Hello" ... "we need to get you in the open where more people will discover you!"  Well, here I am, a dear friend paved the way! We've opened our studio in the most adorable little shop, growing our own flowers and I couldn't be happier! xoxo

Location

Nestled in the heart of Waterford, ON, just inside the most charming artisan store "Nifty Gifty" you will find our Studio! Come visit us... but first...grab breakfast or lunch, a coffee and my favourite, the apple fritter just across the street at "Ritzy Cakes and Eatery" and then pop in and say "Hello"!  Maybe even take home some blooms to cheer or fresh plants to join your family!?  I'd love to meet you! OH.... and while you're at it...tour our amazing walking trails and peek in just up the street at the local antique market... see you soon just as soon as Covid-19 is past! Until then, safe, "contact-less" deliveries are in place!
